THE OAK

A PRIVATE SOCIAL CLUB FOR MEN AND WOMEN

Fuente Summer of Love
On Saturday, August 8, The Oak hosted the Arturo Fuente Summer of Love Beach Party—a day filled with great cigars, food, music, friends, a few very cool cars, and plenty of Fuente.
When the opportunity came along to participate in the Summer of Love, we weren't entirely sure what to expect.
Then the cigars started arriving.
As we began opening boxes and seeing what Fuente had sent our way, the direction became pretty obvious:
We were throwing a beach party.

Bringing Summer of Love to Boerne
Our walk-in humidor became the centerpiece of the celebration.
We transformed the center island into a beach and nautical-inspired Arturo Fuente display, surrounded by the Fuente core lines already represented throughout our humidor. The special releases certainly commanded attention, but we wanted the entire presentation to feel like a celebration of the Fuente family of cigars.
The theme carried beyond the humidor and throughout the club. Members were encouraged to dress for the occasion, bring out their favorite cars and make a day of it.
They happily obliged.
The music was playing, the grill was fired up, drinks were being poured, cigars were already burning, and by early afternoon The Oak transformed into exactly what we hoped for—a proper Summer of Love party.

The Anticipation
For the week leading up to the event, members had an opportunity to visit the humidor and preview what would be
available. The Summer of Love releases were embargoed until 1:00 PM Saturday, giving everyone the same opportunity when the starting gun went off.
At 1:00, it was on.

Sharing the Good Stuff
With limited quantities available, our goal wasn't simply to sell through the rare cigars. We wanted as many members as possible to have the opportunity to experience them.
Depending on availability, the rare releases were limited to just one or two cigars per member, and we intentionally kept pricing reasonable. These were special cigars for a special occasion, and we wanted them going home with the people who came to celebrate Fuente with us.
At the same time, Summer of Love wasn't going to be only about the unicorns.
For the entire day, The Oak offered 25% off Arturo Fuente core-line cigars, giving members an opportunity to stock their humidors, revisit old favorites and explore more of the Fuente portfolio.
We also tied the coveted Summer of Love samplers to the purchase of a box from the Fuente core line.
The result was exactly what we had hoped for.
The rare cigars created tremendous excitement, while the core collection remained an equally important part of the celebration.
Within about an hour, nearly all of the special releases had found new homes.

Some Very Special Cigars
There was plenty to get excited about.
The day's offerings included OpusX Sharks, Magnum O's, the 25th Anniversary El Tributo, Casa Fuente, Don Carlos Sharks, Bulls, and the crowd-favorite Destino al Siglo in three sizes, alongside an extensive selection of Arturo Fuente core cigars.
And then there was the star of the show:
The extraordinary humidor celebrating 25 years of Fuente Fuente OpusX.
Needless to say, it received plenty of attention.

110 Chances to Win
The Summer of Love crystal ashtray gave us one more excuse for a little friendly competition.
For every $100 spent on qualifying Arturo Fuente cigars, members received an entry into the drawing.
By raffle time, there were 110 tickets in the hat.
Then we drew the winner.

And the Winner Is…
Rob.
One of The Oak's most loyal members, Rob is also one of our biggest advocates for all things Arturo Fuente.
In fact, earlier in the day, the club had already surprised him with the now-famous Carlito bobblehead simply as a thank-you for his loyalty and enthusiasm for the brand.
Then his ticket was drawn for the Summer of Love crystal ashtray.
If we could have hand-picked the winner, we probably couldn't have chosen a better one. Rob was genuinely surprised, incredibly appreciative, and quickly surrounded by fellow members congratulating him.
It was a pretty good day to be Rob.

A Summer of Love to Remember
As the afternoon rolled on, we cut into a custom Summer of Love carrot cake made by our team, poured some drinks, and, of course, lit more cigars.
By then, the displays were considerably lighter, the ashtrays fuller, and a great many Arturo Fuente cigars had found new homes.
Our members embraced the day—dressing for the occasion, bringing their cars, sharing cigars, discovering new favorites, and staying well into the evening.
The rare releases may have created the excitement, but Summer of Love became a celebration of the entire Arturo Fuente portfolio and the people who enjoy it.

We hosted the event. Our members made it a party.
